UKROEd Safeguarding Statement

UKROEd Safeguarding Statement

UKROEd (United Kingdom Road Offender Education) is wholly committed to ensuring that all children and adults at risk who engage with NDORS (National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme) educational driving courses nationally do so in a safe and secure environment.

UKROEd believe everyone has a responsibility to promote the welfare of children and adults at risk, to keep them safe and to practise in a way that protects them. To fulfil this commitment a number of safeguarding measures have been put in place.

Policy and Procedures

We will ensure all policies and procedures in respect of Safeguarding children and adults at risk are up to date and in line with current legislation. This policy will be accessible to all UKROED staff through the corporate library and will be reviewed and revised by the designated safeguarding lead on a regular basis and ratified by the senior leadership team.

Vetting

Vetting is an integral part of a UKROEd’s Values and Behaviour framework and professional standards. It assists with identifying those who are unsuitable to work within the company or to have access to police assets.

We will vet UKROEd staff, Academics, Assessors, and Associate Contractors to allow the organisation to identify, assess and manage risk terms of integrity, leadership, safety, protection of company data and physical assets and security.

Designated Safeguarding Lead

UKROEd will appoint a designated safeguarding lead (DSL) to oversee the operational application of safeguarding for UKROEd and be a single point of contact nationally across NDORS. The DSL will be clear about their role, have sufficient time, relevant support, and training to undertake this role.

Training

All staff, Academics, Assessors, and Associate Contractors are required to undertake mandatory safeguarding training via UKROEd Academy. This training will be updated every 2 years or earlier if legislative updates and/or contextual issues arise.
