Heather Baily QPM
Non-Executive Director
Heather has spent the majority of her professional career in policing, initially with the Metropolitan Police Service and later with Hertfordshire Constabulary where she served as an Assistant Chief Constable with responsibility for Protective Services which included major crime, counter terrorism and roads policing. As Deputy Chief Constable, she continued to lead on wider collaboration in addition to corporate and legal services and HR.
On leaving policing, she took up a role with the Garda Inspectorate in Ireland, inspecting policing services. Since then, she has held posts as a Board member with the National Crime Agency and Police Remuneration Review Body and as a non-executive director with the Department of Justice in Northern Ireland. She also held the role of non-executive director with Dorset Healthcare University NHS Trust for five years and was the Deputy Chair of the Trust.
Prior to joining the Board of UKROEd, Heather was Chair of the Suecurity Industry Authority, the UK wide regulator for the private security industry and designated regulator for Martyn’s Law.
Heather lives in Buckinghamshire and spends her spare time gardening, cycling and walking. She has two sons and has just become a very proud grandmother.
