Driver Top-Up is a programme of learning material that will be available to anyone who has completed a course under the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS). This Service is provided by UKROEd Ltd (a limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 8773977, registered address at Colwyn Chambers, York Street, Manchester M2 3BA).
UKROEd Ltd is the operating company of The Road Safety Trust, a charitable trust (charity number 1156300) dedicated to supporting projects and research aimed at making the roads safer for all road users.

This privacy notice provides individuals who have been offered an opportunity to complete Driver Top-Up programme with information about how we obtain, collect and process your personal data. Please read this privacy policy carefully. From time to time we may issue updated privacy notices to you relating to the way in which we collect personal data about you which we will bring to your attention.

The types of data we collect about you, and how we collect and use such data:
Personal data means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data). We minimise as far as we can the amount of personal data that we collect and process about you.
We have set out below the types of personal data we may collect, use, store and transfer about you and where and how we obtain such information.
Legitimate Interest
- Pseudonymised DORS+ Reference: Your invite includes a pseudonymised reference created for your when you completed your course. This reference is used to link anonymised statistical information about course completions and Driver Top-Up use.
- Email address: You will need to provide an email address to access the Driver Top-Up content. This email address will only be used for login purposes unless you subscribe for updates.
Consent
- Update Subscription: You will have the option of subscribing to be notified when new content has been added.
- Cookies: Cookies are used to track an evaluate usage of the Driver Top-Up programme. Please refer to the Cookie Policy at the end of this document
Sharing your data:
- When you access Driver Top-Up, you use a pseudonymised reference. This reference is verified against your NDORS record in the DORS+ system.
- Anonymised Driver Top-Up usage data will be shared with our Research & Development Unit to evaluate the Driver Top-Up content. This may be mixed with anonymised course attendance data from the DORS+ system.
- You may be invited to complete surveys within the Driver Top-Up content. Anonymised data from these surveys may be shared with external partners.
How we store your data
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal information from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. Driver Top-Up data is stored in a Microsoft Azure Cloud environment with UK data residency.
Data Retention:
We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for. You will be able to access the Driver Top-Up content for a period of 3-years after your NDORS Course completion.
Your rights:
You have certain rights, some of which apply in certain circumstances, in respect of the personal data under the European General Data Protection Regulation, as summarised below:
- you may have the right in accordance with applicable data protection law to have personal data we hold about you rectified or restricted;
- you may, in some circumstances, have the right to have personal data we hold about you deleted (although note that this may not apply to some of the data we hold about you for specific legal reasons which will be notified to you, if applicable, at the time of your request);
- you may have the right to object to how we process your personal data on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may also have the right to request access to your personal data that we hold and to receive certain information relating to that data (commonly known as a “data subject access request”).

We will ask you to verify your identity if you make a request to us to exercise any of the rights set out above. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response. You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.
You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection issues (www.ico.org.uk).
