Yes. Protecting your confidentiality is of the utmost importance, unless previously agreed with the Safer Roads for Nottinghamshire team, nobody other than the UKROEd approved trainers and course participants are allowed in the physical classrooms.

If attending a virtual course, you must ensure that nobody is in the room with you and can view your screen. We recommend that you undertake the online course in a private room without any distractions.

Can I have an interpreter with me on the course?

Yes.

It is important that anyone attending an NDORS course can fully understand the course content, as well as contribute to group discussion.

If your English language skills are limited and would restrict your ability to complete a course, Safer Roads for Nottinghamshire recommends that you make arrangements for an interpreter to offer support.

It is the course participant’s responsibility to arrange for an interpreter.  It is not the responsibility of the Police Force, nor the course provider to supply an interpreter.

An interpreter can be a friend or family member. Please note, they must be over 16 and have original photographic identification.

You will need to provide the name of the interpreter who will be attending with you to email [email protected]

If you would benefit from the support of a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter, please contact our Customer Service Technicians when booking your course. There is no charge for this. However, if a BSL interpreter is booked and you fail to attend the course, there may be a rearrangement fee and a charge for the interpreter to attend a further course with.

What if I need additional support?

At the time of booking a course with us, we invite any potential client to identify if they have any additional support requirements to help them access and fully participate in a course.

We will strive to make any reasonable adjustments to ensure the best experience for all clients, whether you attend a virtual course or a course in a physical classroom.

Please contact the Safer Roads for Nottinghamshire Customer Services Team on 0115 8444 5929 to discuss any additional support requirements you wish to discuss further.

I am not very technical and am worried about completing the course. What help is available?

Most importantly, please don’t worry.

This video  https://youtu.be/wdRXLcLswUE explains how to download Microsoft Teams and login to an online course.  Attending an online course is quite straightforward and does not require a lot of technical expertise.

Our experienced Customer Service Technicians are available to help and are happy to complete a trial run with you on how to join the course. However, we ask that you contact us in plenty of time so that this can be arranged.

You will be allowed to have a friend or family member to help you log onto your course, however they will be required to vacate the room when your course starts.

You will receive an email seven days before your course with the joining instructions which will contain further information and confirm what you need to do to prepare for your course.

If you do not have the equipment or help required to attend your course, we may be able to offer you a classroom course at a venue, depending on your critical date and availability.

What happens if I have technical issues whilst connecting or lose connection during the course?

Check you are as close as possible to your internet router.  Turn off other devices that require the internet to help strengthen the signal.

If you experience issues with connecting, log out and back in as this may help.  Ensure you are joining with video and audio on when the prompt appears.

If you lose connection during the course, click on the original link that you initially joined the course with, you will re-enter the waiting room and your trainer will be alerted that you have re-joined. If you are not successful in re-joining, you will need to contact the Customer Service Team and you will have an opportunity to re-book the course, subject to availability.

I’m late for my course and the trainer has not granted me access. What should I do?

You must contact one of our Customer Service Technicians as soon as possible to see if your course can be re-arranged, depending on availability.  Terms and conditions may apply.

I do not have childcare provision. How do I attend the online course?

It is a requirement to be able to complete the course in a private room away from distractions to allow you to concentrate and fully engage.  You will need to consider which option is best suited for your circumstances.

There are no courses available online. What do I do?

Please contact the Safer Roads for Nottinghamshire Customer Service Team on 0115 844 5929 or by emailing [email protected] who will make every effort to assist you. Alternatively, you can visit the NDORS (UKROEd) to view all available providers of the NDORS course you require.
