Kathy graduated from Durham University with a degree in Medieval and Modern History. She trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with Arthur Young (a predecessor firm of Ernst and Young). Post qualification she worked in their National Technical and Advice department. Her additional qualifications include the ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting.

She has wide experience across the charity and not-for-profit sector, having worked in the NHS as Assistant Finance Director at a Trust; at the University of Warwick and a leading independent school; and in various voluntary roles. She recently retired as Group Finance Director of the Chartered Institution of Waste Management (CIWM), a charity group working in the resource management and environmental sector.

Her current roles include being  a governor of a local primary school and a member of the Audit Committee of the Chartered Accountants Benevolent Association (CABA).

Kathy is a Trustee of the Road Safety Trust and is the Trust’s appointed representative on the UKROEd Board.
