FAQs for Essex NDORS courses the Safer Essex Roads Partnership

 

How do I contact the Essex course provider?

  • Email: [email protected]
  • Phone 01277 636675 – please leave a short message stating your name and contact number and we will call you back during office hours (Mon – Fri 8.00am to 4.00pm)
  • When we return your call will need to have your course offer letter handy, as well as your driving licence and a payment card.

 

What will I need for my course?

  • Suitable device i.e. laptop, tablet, smartphone or desktop/computer (with microphone and camera). If you do not have one of these devices, perhaps you may borrow one from a family member or friend?
  • Reliable internet connection capable of streaming video and enough charge on your device for the course duration, so it is best to plug in to the mains supply
  • You will need to provide original photographic ID i.e. photocard driving licence or passport. If you do not have any of these items, then please contact your course provider
  • Pen and paper
  • A quiet environment with no distractions

 

What platform is the course running on?

  • The platform we use is Zoom. If you are using a mobile device or tablet you will need to download the free app which is called ‘Zoom Cloud Meetings’ prior to the course. It is straight forward to do this on most devices, however some may require you to adjust your settings. If you are unsure, please contact our office for further assistance prior to attending your course. We offer the facility to run a trial with you to make sure everything is working before you attend the course.

 

How to I access my course? 

  • Joining information will be emailed to you by 4pm the day before your course or (for Saturday, Sunday and Monday courses the details will be sent the Friday before)
  • Please check your email inbox and/or junk mail. We have sent you the link both by email and text within the past few days

 

I am due to take my course now but cannot access it

– what shall I do?

  • If you are still unable to access the course please contact us on 01277 636675, please leave a short message stating your name and contact number) or by email at [email protected] we will call you back during office hours (Mon – Fri 8.00am to 4.00pm).
  • If you experience difficulties at the weekend, please do not worry, leave us a message or send us an email and we will call you back the next working day

 

I’m not very technical and I am worried that I won’t be able to take my virtual/online course.  What help can I get from the Essex course provider

  • We appreciate that you may not have used Zoom before or are worried about using it. We are here to help.

  • OR Please contact us on 01277 636675– please leave a short message stating your name and contact number, or by email at [email protected]   A member of our team will contact you to discuss your concerns and advise what help is available.  We will call you back during office hours (Mon – Fri 8.00am to 4.00pm).

How much is the course?

  • The course fees in Essex are;

 

National Speed Awareness course – £90.00

National Motorway course – £90.00

What’s Driving Us course – £90.00

Safe and Considerate Driving course – £175
