Police force to proactively patrol county accident hotspot roads

Police officers in Cambridgeshire are to carry out patrols in hotspot areas for motorbike collisions in a bid to reduce them.
Cambridgeshire Police said 11 motorcyclists were killed in crashes across the county in 2025, with a further 56 seriously injured.
The force said specially trained police motorcyclists would be offering advice to all motorists and enforcing any poor driving and riding.
Casualty reduction officer, PC AJ Boddington, said: “We all share responsibility. Every journey, long or short, is an opportunity to ride or drive safely, so everyone arrives home.
“This time of year, we tend to see more motorbikes on the roads, and I would urge riders coming back into riding to refresh their rider safety and consider signing up to courses such as BikeSafe and Biker Down,” he said.
“And equally it is important other road users think bike always. Looking at junctions and being aware of vulnerable road users like motorcyclists.”
The force is also reminding motorcyclists to wear the correct protective clothing on the roads.
