Road Safety Trust podcast: dangerous drivers and the law

Researchers from the University of Leicester led by Professor Sally Kyd issue a warning that too many prosecutions for dangerous driving fail to materialise, due to lack of funding and regional inconsistencies in Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) demands on police. Publishing a report at the end of a research project funded by the Road Safety Trust, the team look at the examination and enforcement of the offences of careless driving, dangerous driving and using a mobile phone whilst driving.

In this 30-minute podcast, Sally Kyd and colleague Dr Steven Cammiss discuss their findings, and consider the implications for road safety and in particular for vulnerable road users.
