Hartlepool Borough Council – Course Provider FAQs
How do I contact my course provider? Please call us on 01429 523803, our opening times are Monday-Thursday 9.00am-17.00pm, Friday 9.00am-16.30pm, excluding public holidays. You can book online at https://offer.ndors.org.uk/#/home Please have your Police Reference Number and PIN Number available as these are required to make a booking.
What will I need for my course? You will need access to a Computer, Laptop or Tablet device with a microphone & camera. You will need a reliable internet connection. Smart phones may be used, however the course will be more effective if you have a larger screen. You will need enough charge to last 2.5 hours or have your device plugged into the mains supply.
You will need to be in a private room without any distractions, have Pen & Paper to make notes. You must have photographic identification.
What platform is the course running on? We are using the digital platform ZOOM, you will need to download ZOOM in advance of your course.
When do you run courses? We run Speed Awareness Courses Monday – Sunday excluding public holidays. They are available at various times throughout the day including evening sessions. Other course types are offered less frequently but still available each week.
How do I access my course? You will receive a confirmation email once your booking has been made, this will include all joining instructions and how to set up/access ZOOM. You will then receive an email the day before your course (after 17.00pm) which will contain your ZOOM link. If you do not receive your confirmation email please check your junk/spam folders. I am about to take my course but cannot access it, where do I find my joining instructions? as above if you cannot locate your emails or haven’t received them please contact us we do have a separate contact number for those having trouble joining or experiencing technical issues which is 01429 284076. This phone line is staffed outside of normal office opening hours inc weekends. You can also email (see above) and we will contact you direct.
Im not very technical and I am worried that I wont be able to take my virtual/online course, what help can I get from my course provider? you can watch the ZOOM tutorial video https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-How-Do-I-Join-A-Meeting to familiarise yourself with the platform. You can have assistance from another person to help you set up, once connected this person must not stay for the duration of the course. If help from another person is not possible, please contact us and we can discuss the process with you and we can also contact you before your course is due to start, talk you through how to access the meeting on your device and get you to the waiting room. If you manage to get the waiting room but have issues with your video or your audio the trainers will help as much as they can and send you prompts, were possible they will contact the office to ask us to contact you.
