UKROEd Anti-racism Statement 2025
All staff and those representing UKROEd in whatever capacity, are committed to creating equality of opportunity and preventing inequality in all our working practices. We promise to challenge injustice, ensure fairness and to uphold anti-racist principles. We recognise that many races and ethnicities, particularly Black and people of dual heritage, continue to experience disadvantages and barriers which we will challenge and eliminate.
Our pledge
We are committed to being an actively anti-racist organisation. We will:
- Maintain a zero-tolerance approach to racism.
- Act with courage and take responsibility for our actions.
- Proactively examine and challenge systemic disadvantages and barriers.
- Seek to understand trauma and the burden on those with lived experience.
- Work to remove or reduce these burdens wherever possible.
- Build a positive, inclusive environment where everyone—especially people of colour—feels valued and involved.
- Overtly challenge racist behaviour and attitudes within our organisation, among stakeholders, and in all our interactions.
We understand harm can be caused inadvertently: when we make mistakes, we will not hide them but seek to learn and share that learning.
These are the expectations we have of all those working for and representing UKROEd in whatever capacity to ensure an anti-racist organisation.
